I just want to fiddle with this camera since the truth is, is that I’ve been trying so many new stuff in the last few months and I finally discovered something I really enjoy and has been performing really well. Now, in this video, I’m going to share with you very, very shortly a little tip that I’ve been playing around with. And the thing is, is that plenty of people have been asking me how do I get this little blurry blurry background in plenty of my videos and get the focal point on just me.
Going back a couple of months ago, I was kind of organizing about replacing to a new camera and I’ve been using the Kodak Zi8 for quite some time and you’ve seen plenty of my videos where everything’s in high definition and the quality is quite good. It’s just that you don’t have that nice blurry background outcome and also focus on the camera. And also too, I wanted lots of extra devices like lighting and also being sure that I get the right facets from time to time to ensure that the camera captures it appropriately.
Whereas this specific camera that I’m currently using now, the Canon T3i, I don’t really need to do just about anything. I don’t even have much lighting on my face at this point in time. It is all totally applied by natural light and the modification of the camera. That’s the strong thing about getting an SLR camera just like the Canon T3i.
So the whole concept is if you have a Canon SLR camera or any sort of camera, all you need to do is buy a lens with a lesser F stop. What that means is simply the whole size of your lens and the smaller the whole size, the greater it concentrates on your point which is my face and let everything else blur in the background. And that’s to do with what we call the term aperture. The lower the F stop, the higher it is and the price.
It jumps up dramatically in price from 1.8 down to 1.4. And the price variation is roughly about $100 for this lens and approximately $300 for that other lens. You may see just a slight little quality variation. I get seen the minor little quality difference but I wasn’t thinking about paying that extra because I don’t think my viewers like yourself may possibly even recognize. So really that’s how you do it. Just get a separate different lens. Be sure to have an SLR camera and a fixed lens creates a variation because then you don’t have to worry about fixing up the zoom and all that stuff and an F1.8 is more than ample enough to have that nice blur.
